In this blog post, I will explain the differences between our flagship PandwaRF products: the PandwaRF Rogue (Pro/Gov) and the PandwaRF Marauder (Basic/Standard/Ultimate).
First of all, it is important to know that both Rogue and Marauder family are completely different, but complementary. You cannot do the same things with both products.
PandwaRF Rogue
PandwaRF Rogue (Pro/Gov) products are meant for “active” RF analysis. Active means that user needs to be connected (USB or Bluetooth) to the PandwaRF Rogue with a smartphone to drive it.
- When connected to the Android application, user can then perform Spectrum Analysis, data capture, data transmit, brute force, jamming, etc…
- When disconnected, the device will stop working, except for continuing a brute force if it was previously started.
The difference between PandwaRF Rogue Pro and Gov is the embedded database and analysis functions. The Rogue Gov has more capacities in decoding fixed & rolling codes, either locally or with the help of Kaiju – Rolling code analyzer & generator.
PandwaRF Rogue Pro
PandwaRF Rogue Pro is generally used:
- by physical penetration testers,
- by RF hobbyists, with a minimum RF knowledge (terms like: modulation, data rate, sampling rate, samples, OOK, deviation),
- to analyse some fixed code patterns, and occasionally rolling codes,
- to brute force a device knowing its RF frame format.
PandwaRF Rogue Gov
PandwaRF Rogue Gov is generally used:
- by police and Law Enforcement Agencies or affiliated companies with a legitimate need,
- when a quicker analysis result is needed,
- to brute force a device without knowing its RF frame format (1),
- when extensive rolling code analysis is needed,
- to generate rolling codes from data captured by a Marauder (Standard/Ultimate),
- Integrated Kaiju support.

PandwaRF Marauder
PandwaRF Marauder Basic
PandwaRF Marauder Basic is generally used:
- by physical penetration testers,
- for replay attacks (fixed code),
- when the exact capture time is not needed,
- when data analysis (fixed/rolling codes) is not needed.
PandwaRF Marauder Standard
PandwaRF Marauder Standard is generally used:
- by physical penetration testers,
- for replay attacks (fixed code) with manual payload modification (using Rogue Pro),
- when the exact capture time is needed,
- when data analysis (fixed codes) is occasionally needed (requires Rogue Pro).
- when data analysis (rolling codes) is occasionally needed (requires Rogue Pro/Gov),
- Marauder Standard can send each capture one by one to the Rogue Gov, which can then analyse it (rolling code or fixed code) and generate new transmissions.
PandwaRF Marauder Ultimate
PandwaRF Marauder Ultimate is generally used:
- by physical penetration testers, police and Law Enforcement Agencies or affiliated companies,
- when discretion is required (BLE advertizing, Android Location permission,..),
- to autonomously analyze all the captured data at once and provide information about the brand/model/SN, etc…
- for RF scouting & recon,
- Marauder Ultimate works best with a Rogue Gov, or at least a Rogue Pro,
- Integrated Kaiju support.
tl;dr
Active RF hacking:
- Rogue Pro: € + RF knowledge, active RF hacking, physical pentest.
- Rogue Gov: €€€ , no RF knowledge, active RF hacking, rolling code support, integrated Kaiju support, in ❤️ with Marauder Ultimate, LEA.
Passive RF capture:
- Marauder Basic: €, passive RF capture, replay attack, no data analysis, no dating.
- Marauder Standard: €€, passive RF capture, replay attack, dating, occasional data analysis, physical pentest.
- Marauder Ultimate: €€€, passive RF capture, discreet, RF scouting, quick analysis, rolling codes, integrated Kaiju support, in ❤️ with Rogue Gov , LEA.
